Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to StoryNest. By creating an account, accessing, or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.

2. Status as Intermediary

StoryNest acts as an "Intermediary" as defined under the Information Technology Act, 2000. We provide a platform for users to upload, share, and view content. We do not preview, edit, or endorse User Content. Our role is limited to providing access to a communication system over which information made available by third parties is transmitted or temporarily stored or hosted.

3. User Responsibilities (Prohibited Content)

In accordance with Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you agree NOT to host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update, or share any information that:

  1. Belongs to another person and to which you do not have any right;
  2. Is bogus, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws of India;
  3. Is harmful to a child;
  4. Infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary rights;
  5. Deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message or knowingly and intentionally communicates any information which is patently false or misleading in nature but may reasonably be perceived as a fact;
  6. Impersonates another person;
  7. Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence or prevents investigation of any offence or is insulting other nation;
  8. Contains software virus or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
  9. Is in the nature of an online game that is not in conformity with any law for the time being in force in India.

StoryNest reserves the right to remove any content that violates these rules and terminate the accounts of violators without prior notice.

4. Content Ownership & License

You Own Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to the stories and comments you post on StoryNest.

License to Us: By posting content, you grant StoryNest a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on our Platform. This license is solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

5. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to StoryNest at any time, for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or the IT Rules, 2021.

6. Disclaimers & Liability

The Platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryNest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StoryNest, its affiliates, and their respective officers and employees from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Platform or your violation of these Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bangalore, Karnataka.

9. Grievance Redressal

If you have any concerns regarding content on StoryNest or a violation of these Terms, please contact our Grievance Officer designated under the IT Rules, 2021.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
